Our typographic signature uses custom letterforms inspired by the curves and shapes of our famous mascot, Duo. Look closely and you'll see that the flick on the "g" mirrors Duo's expressive eyebrows.
The logotype can be used in one of three colors: feather green, white, or gray.

Occasionally, we rotate our logotype 90° to make the best use of space with unusual formats. By rotating the logo vertically, we are able to display it at a larger scale. Examples include vertical ad spaces such as "skyscraper" banner ads, physical banners/flags, and playful applications like merchandise or stationery.
Displaying Duo next to our logotype is useful in third party applications, where Duo's recognizability would aid in brand awareness. This fixed lockup ensures that they will safely coexist in such instances.

The bottom of Duo's body is aligned with the inside of the loop on the "g" character. The side of his head aligns with the top of the "l". A space equal to one-half the x-height is left between Duo and the logotype.

Because Duo is extremely recognizable, his larger size and more prominent placement helps us stand out among other apps and brands. Use this version when supplying logos to third parties, and when the usage is within a square or tall space.

Because Duolingo's presence largely exists online, the consistent appearance of our icon is critical in ensuring our audience recognizes our brand across various spaces. In many cases, this symbol is the first introduction that people have to Duolingo.
Our icon is our face on social accounts, keeping Duo's personality front and center. It can be safely used at a wide variety of sizes, as small as 16px like our favicon.
In instances where we know the avatar will be displayed as a square (with or without rounded corners), Duo's eye mask should touch the left and right edges of the frame. When the masking shape approaches a circle, there should be space between the eye mask and the edge on either side.
